NOAH J KIM
the ins, outs, and in-betweens of a storyteller
A brief introduction to some of the work I've done, ranging from professional copywriting to personal passion projects. Check out the "Work" drop-down for a complete list.
Though I come from a family of physicians, it's clear that my life has gone in a wildly different direction. Nonetheless, making connections across disparate fields has always been of academic and personal interest. Check out my "Capstones" page for more information on this deeply personal project revolving around family, medicine, and narrative.
THE BEST GIFTS FOR BOURBON LOVERS
It's been thrilling to see the way my passions and work experiences have informed my copywriting. In another product summary for my freelance work, I had the opportunity to gush about all things bourbon — and finally set the record straight on "whiskey" vs. "whisky."
My favorite part of being a USC tour guide was helping prospective students understand what it means to choose your next home, both social and academic. In a theoretical effort to recruit more tour guides committed to representing our diverse and bright student body, I built this Wix highlighting current staff and detailing the job.
THE BEST WINE DECANTERS
Beer, wine, and spirits have long been a passion of mine, particularly in their artistry and the way they bring people together. I jumped at the opportunity to review wine decanters for my freelance work with OnRamp Media, and even purchased my own decanter after publishing the piece.
POLITE AS F*CK
A restaurant review subtitled, "The Graphic Details of a Meal at “Morning Glory.” Enter MG’s wild world of pink velour booths, pierced and personable servers, and orgasmic brunch options complemented by an exceptional playlist and an intoxicating air of eccentricity.
"It keeps me on and in time, like every good watch should." Taking Time is a reflection on family heirlooms and all the moments they hold. It's a historical reckoning of identity and culture where easy fictions wrestle with hard facts. Commissioned by Noihsaf Bazaar for their "TMI" series, which explores the pieces of clothing in our lives that have stories to tell.
THE BAR CART, EXPLAINED
It's officially the age of the bar cart. They're mobile, they're aesthetically versatile, and they're stunning space-savers. But to make sure your cart is just as functional as it is fashionable, I compiled a list of base spirits, supporting staff, and all the necessary mixing equipment.
"In the end, people don't view their life as merely the average of all its moments—which, after all, is mostly nothing much plus some sleep. For human beings, life is meaningful because it is a story."
